Nevzat Sayın, kendisi gibi 1970-1980 dönemini üniversitede geçiren, kariyerine ise daha sonra başlayan mimarların kuşağına ve izleyenlere dâhil olmakla kalmayıp onlara farklı bakımlardan öncülük yapmış; öğrenmeye, öğretmeye, çizip yapmaya, farklı temsil ve ifade biçimleri de dâhil denemeye ara vermemiş; mimar sözcüğünü isminin başına sıfat gibi ekletmiş iddialı ve dayanıklı bir rol modeli. Sadece düşündükleriyle değil, inşai ve temsili pratiklerlerin yanı sıra maddi üretimle de aydın olunabileceğinin yarım asırlık kanıtı. Tansel Korkmaz editörlüğündeki Düşler Düşünceler İşler başlıklı kitabının devamı olan bu kitap Sayın’ın mimarlık pratiğinin ürünlerini olduğu kadar kurmaca işlerini de kapsıyor ve bu kez Düşünceler İşler başlığı altında bir araya geliyor.

Nevzat Sayın is not only a member of a generation of architects and their successors that spent the decade between 1970 and 1980 in college and began their career afterwards, but also he has pioneered them in different ways, never took the time out from learning, teaching, drawing, and experimenting with different forms of representation and expression, and, as a strong, ambitious, and enduing role model, has added the word “architect” as both a title and an adjective before his name. He is the half-century testimony to the ideal that one can become an intellectual not merely through his ideas, but also with concrete production, as well as constructional and representational practices. As the second volume of Dreams Thoughts Works edited by Tansel Korkmaz, this book encompasses both the products of Sayın’s architectural practice and his non-executed designs, all collectively brought together under the title, Thoughts Works
